Hi, I’m Michele, and I’m excited to begin this new space centered around something I think women could all use a little more of: wellness, grace, and permission to not have everything figured out.
Wellness Is Bigger Than Exercise and Nutrition
A little about me: I’m a financial advisor, I have a degree in psychology, and I’ve been a certified personal trainer since 2009. Somewhere along the way, I began to realize that wellness is much bigger than how often we exercise or what we eat.
Our emotional health matters. Our stress matters. Our finances matter. Our relationships matter. Our faith matters. And they have a way of intertwining with one another.
I’m certainly not entering this space as someone who has mastered all of those things. I’m still working on putting the puzzle pieces together as life continues to flip those pieces upside down—and sometimes they just don’t fit perfectly into another piece.
I want to share some of what I am learning in my own life: lessons that have been helpful to me through my own counseling, my growing faith, my experience in wellness, and simply navigating life as a woman who is still a work in progress.
When Wellness Starts to Feel Like Another Thing to Perfect
Wellness—one word that carries so much weight in life.
The stress and pressure we carry can affect our sleep, energy, mood, and physical well-being. Financial stress can create its own emotional weight.
And sometimes we can become so focused on doing all the “right” things—exercising, eating well, taking the right supplements, meeting our goals, planning for the future—that wellness itself starts to feel like another thing we have to perfect.
Does this sound like you? Me too.
Do me a favor: take a deep breath now!
Learning to Take My Thoughts Captive
My faith has also taught me the importance of taking my thoughts captive.
Just because a thought enters my mind doesn’t mean I have to accept it as truth. I can acknowledge fear, disappointment, or uncertainty without allowing it to determine what happens next.
And ultimately, I can remind myself that I’ll be okay—not because everything will always go according to my plan, but because Jesus is with me through it.
Trust me when I say I have to remind myself of this MULTIPLE times a day.
What I Hope This Space Becomes
I want this to be a place where we can talk honestly about women’s wellness—not from a place of perfection, but from a place of curiosity and growth.
We’ll talk about stress and emotional health. We’ll talk about movement, nutrition, and supplements. We’ll talk about our thoughts, our habits, and our faith.
And because of what I do professionally, we’ll also talk about financial wellness and the very real relationship women can have with money, security, confidence, and the future.
I won’t pretend to have all the answers. I’m simply sharing what I’m learning.
And who knows, maybe this will help someone.
Giving Ourselves More Grace Along the Way
Maybe wellness isn’t about finally reaching a place where everything in our lives is perfectly under control.
Maybe it’s about learning to take better care of ourselves—physically, emotionally, financially, and spiritually—while giving ourselves a little more grace along the way.
That’s what I hope we can do here together.
