As Father’s Day rolls around, coupled with the start of summer, many of us undoubtedly will start firing up the grill more often. Whether you are a grill master or a novice, there is something special about the serene atmosphere of preparing meats, cracking open a cold one, and enjoying the company of friends and family. Today I will cover a personal game changer to enhance your dad skills for the upcoming season and beyond.
I come from a medium to medium-rare meat household.
Essentially, I have to take an extra careful approach to not overcooking the meat but also not serving raw cows. If you like chewing on rubber, anyone can burn and char a piece of meat. I have taken the guesswork out of the varying temperature range, to combat these risks by investing in a wireless grill thermometer.
It works exactly like you would think it would.
The probe has a wireless sensor that connects to an app on your phone. Using the app, you can set specific temperature ranges for different types of meat and even side dishes. I get the bang for my buck using the thermometer for steak. My goal is to be precise and accurate with the temperature to achieve the steak’s warm but pink center. To achieve the perfect medium-rare steak, I cook the steaks to 125 degrees Fahrenheit, then let them rest for 5-10 minutes on a wire rack.
CONSISTENCY IS KEY when I think of the Dad mantra, and that’s precisely what you can achieve with a meat probe.
Become the reliable go-to for grilling, delivering consistent and repeatable results every time your fire up the coals. Be the ultimate grilling MVP with the help of a meat probe.
To all the dads out there, thank you for your leadership, wisdom, and guidance throughout the years. And to Steve, if you made it this far in the blog, I bet you can guess what your Father’s Day present will be…surprise!!
