You will almost never find me wearing a hat. They just aren’t flattering on me. In theory, however, I have a whole collection of hats and wear them all very often. Usually, many at once! Wife, mother, professional, keeper of our home, friend, etc. Because my hat collection seems to keep growing, I’ve recently been reflecting on the woman described in Proverbs 31. She invests, she provides, she plans. But more than that, “she is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.” Her legacy isn’t just her income or her estate; it’s the way she lives with intention, faith, and care. This passage encourages me to take delight in the work I do.
As a financial advisor, I’ve witnessed this same spirit in the women I serve. Women who care for aging parents while managing careers. Women who raise children, run businesses, give generously, and still find time to listen, encourage, and love. They build their estate, yes—but also trust, legacy, and faith.
They are builders not just of wealth, but of homes filled with laughter. Calendars full of meaning. Communities rich in kindness. Their lives reflect purpose, not just productivity. And they remind me that true financial planning is not about money alone. It’s about designing a life that reflects your values, honors your hard work, your generosity, and your vision for what matters most.
So, here’s to the women who are investing wisely—not just in markets, but in people. In moments. In faith. The expectations can feel overwhelming and downright exhausting. Proverbs 31 always seems to turn what feels like a burden into an honorable mission. She may build wealth—but more importantly, she builds a life.
“Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.” Proverbs 31:31
