Contacting Viste clients to confirm their participation in the Thanksgiving dinner delivery service. The volunteer would basically, make calls from the Viste offices for a time period of 2 hours during the day/evening. This activity has already launched, so the volunteer would need to have the flexibility to begin this opportunity immediately. With all the phone talent we have onboard, this should be an easy fit for us!

For all those creative types, it’s time to get your glitter on! This is a fun project that has family written all over it, a wonderful project for your little people. Or maybe some of us would like to congregate after work some evening for a couple of hours. Every year the bags that the meals arrive in, have been hand decorated to make the holiday even brighter. The bag count commitment is what we need here. An Allen & Company associate will pick the bags up to be distributed to all those wishing to participate in this volunteer opportunity, and we will delivery the completed bags back to Viste now that all the heavy lifting is done. Please note, the same number of bags provided to you, must be returned.

Description
Calling all bakers! Each year, as part of the Thanksgiving meal, the lovely tradition of pumpkin is shared. They ask that we bake either pumpkin muffins or pumpkin bread to be included. Great news here, you can start baking now, and pace yourself. AND, it doesn’t matter what operation you work at, an equal opportunity opportunity. The facility has the capacity to freeze your goodies until needed for the packing extravaganza.

Description
This next opportunity is one that generally generates a stampede, and that’s pole bean snapping. I know, you’re probably wondering how in the world did we make this happen?!?! Seriously, this opportunity is extended to only a few select organizations in town, and we’ve been told, people BEG to be part of this. Clearly, Allen & Company has won a place in the hearts of the the gatekeepers of the bean snapping event, note participation is very limited for this activity.

Description
Where the rubber meets the road, final chance to participate in this spectacular Lakeland tradition. It’s the packing of all those dinners. Somebody needs to do it, why not us? Must be 18 to participate, or teen with parents. High schoolers needing community service hours, this is a great way to meet that need and, share in the gift of giving.

DREAM CENTER OPPORTUNITY

Many of you attended one of two business meetings held earlier this year over at the Dream Center. If you didn’t you really missed out. They are doing wonderful work in our community, only blocks away from us here at 1401 S. Florida. Lots to do, everything from distributing commodity boxes to the elderly, working in the Community Shoppe to constructing and staining crates. This is a real hands on experience, with many ways to share your time, talents and energy all for the good of Lakeland.
