Kurt joined Allen & Company as a financial advisor in 2003 with a desire to partner with a local firm. He pursued advanced education and completed a two-year program at night to earn the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation. He also holds Series 7, 66, and Life, Health, and Variable Annuity licenses. He enjoys helping clients navigate their goals through a comprehensive financial planning approach.
Kurt began his career as the Wealth Management Specialist for the Private Client Services Department with one of Polk County’s largest financial institutions after graduating from Florida Southern College. He later earned his MBA from FSC.
Dedicated to the Allen & Company commitment of giving back to the community, Kurt and his wife serve many community organizations. Kurt has led local groups such as the Lakeland Area Chamber of Commerce, the Downtown Lakeland Kiwanis Club, the Florida Southern College 6th Man Club, and the Championship Committee. His long-standing connection to Florida Southern College remains important to him, and he continues to stay involved in campus and alumni activities. He and his wife have attended nearly every men’s home basketball game since graduation.
Outside of work and community involvement, the Elmhorst family enjoys traveling to adventurous destinations. Whether on a rafting trip down the Salmon River in Idaho, hiking in the Canadian Rockies, or playing a competitive game of tennis, Kurt, his wife, their two children—Kale and Kelsey—and their son‑in‑law Zach value spending time together.
Kurt Elmhorst holds the Series 7 and 66 registrations with LPL Financial. He also holds his life, health and variable annuities insurance licenses.
