Private: 2018 Economic Forecast Evening

One of Nation’s Top Economists, Brian Wesbury, to
Present National Forecast at EDC Event

Wesbury, of First Trust Advisors, L.P., to present in Melbourne January 18, 2018.

Space Coast, FL (December 13, 2017) – With more launches than ever before, a budding commercial space industry, and an increasingly diversified industry base, it’s safe to say that these are exciting times on the Space Coast. With all this excitement, the Economic Development Commission of Florida’s Space Coast (EDC) and Allen & Company have partnered to bring a top American economist, Brian Wesbury, to the Space Coast to present a national forecast illustrating what’s around the corner of our nation’s economic journey.

“This event serves as an important resource for our business community,” stated Lynda Weatherman, president and CEO of the EDC. “Guests will leave with a better understanding of which key issues and trends may affect our economy. This can assist them in making more informed decisions, for business or personal investments.”

The evening will begin with a regional perspective reported by Weatherman, followed by the national forecast presented by Wesbury, who regularly appears on networks such as CNBC, Fox Business, Fox News, and Bloomberg TV.

As Wall Street Journal’s 2001 pick for the nation’s top economic forecaster, Wesbury has been called ‘a breath of fresh air’ in the economic world, connecting to audiences with his easy to understand language, clear forecasts, and energetic personality. His presentation is sure to resonate with the Space Coast community, as in a recent interview Wesbury noted that innovation, an increase in technology, and entrepreneurship, are driving the nation’s economic recovery. As the home to NASA, countless commercial space companies, and top innovative businesses and entrepreneurs, Wesbury’s words echo Brevard County’s economic progress.

“This year has certainly been showered with events that continue to impact Americans,” said Ralph Allen, Chairman of Allen & Company of Florida, Inc. “From historical hurricane activity in 2017 to unrelenting violence on both foreign and homeland soil. These events define our thoughts, our actions, and sometimes our financial well-being. How these stories influence the economies and ultimately our day-to-day lives is important to understand.”
